I have been wanting to start a blog for a while now, but never really felt I had enough of a reason for it until now. As most of my friends and family know, I love to sew and create, especially costumes and accessories. As such, on occasion, I will buy Threads magazine because it always has great tips and techniques for garment and accessory construction. The July 2012 issue (#161, p. 76) of Threads has a reference to The Vintage Pattern Lending Library (VPLL) and their 1912 Project calling for volunteers to test out patterns from 1912 issues of the French fashion journal La Mode Illustrée in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. They request their volunteers to maintain a blog about their experience working with these patterns, so now I have my excuse to start a blog.
This blog is set up in anticipation of joining the 1912 Project as well as sharing other projects and interests. This will mostly be about sewing and other art forms that interest me.
